The silk reeling machine
and the ethical silk
D'orica's restoration of the last remaining example in Europe
of a silk reeling machine – a 1971 Nissan – was the first step towards the revival of silk production in Italy.
The valuable contribution of CREA-AA in Padua allowed D'orica to lay the foundations for the reconstruction of the Italian silk industry. Shortly afterwards, a network of agricultural businesses in Veneto was created, united by their commitment to reviving an entirely Italian silk farming industry.
Each of our jewels is a thread that reconnects Italian silk excellence to the memory of the ancient Venetian masters, bringing a timeless tradition back to life.
