The new silk way

Treesure is an artistic, artisanal, and aesthetic mission, part of a cultural project that bears the intangible but clearly recognizable imprint of centuries of history encompassing Marco Polo and precious fabrics, the Grand Canal and Venetian manufacturing, the Brenta River and spinning mills, architect Andrea Palladio, and Venetian villas.

Villa
La Palladiana

Palladio's Veneto region played a leading role in the spread of silk production in Italy. Among the producers were the leading aristocratic families, including the Contarini, whose villas in Piazzola sul Brenta and Presina were both residences and places of silk production.

Villa La Palladiana is particularly representative of this scenario, having maintained its function until the 1970s and employing almost the entire local population in silk production.

To pass on to new generations an entrepreneurial adventure that has laid the conceptual foundations for the creation of a new Italian “Silk Road,” and to raise awareness for the history of silk production in this area, Treesure has found the ideal location in Villa La Palladiana
Inside the barchessa, it has set up the Atelier Treesure, which hosts an educational itinerary specially designed by Palladio Museum/CISAAP (Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio).

The Silk
Journey

The combination of Palladian architecture and textile goldsmithing will lead this place to become a key point on the emerging European silk route promoted by the Council of Europe, reaffirming the importance of the Veneto region and its inhabitants, people capable of pursuing and realizing their dreams of beauty.
Through this project, Treesure confirms its status as an essential Italian reference point for rebuilding a resilient and innovative silk ecosystem that spans the European countries involved and promotes their traditions, architecture, and both tangible and
intangible heritage.
